What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractors are specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of problems in the muscles and joints. These problems can irritate or pinch nerves, causing pain and muscle spasm in the spine or other parts of the body, often in the neck, head and lower back.

Pressure on the nerves can also result in dizziness, and in pain or sensory impairment of the face, arms or legs. Chiropractic’s success in treating these problems explains why it is now the largest drugless healing profession in the western world. As the graph shows, the number of Chiropractors registering each year is rising.

Chiropractic treatment aims to restore the normal movement of the joints thereby alleviating irritation to the nerves. The aim of treatment is therefore not only to relieve pain but to allow the nerves to function properly, so allowing the body to balance and heal itself.
